PHOTOIMAGE MASK
NPR-60/5ER (YS-18)
SCOPE:
PHOTOIMAGE MASK
NPR-60/5ER (YS-18) is a newly developed liquid type photo-imageable solder
resist inks; 1-part system for domestic and 2-part system for overseas
purposes. NPR-60/5ER (YS-18) is designed to be applied for hot- air-levelling
applications and has features of :
1. Long pot/shelf-life: 2 weeks of pot-life after mixing, and 4 months of shelf-life after manufacturing.
2. Wide operation window: The pre-dry conditions is available at the temperature from 70℃ to 90℃, time from 70 min. to 25 min..
ex. 70℃ --- within 70 min. totally
75℃ --- within 60 min. totally
80℃ --- within 45 min. totally
3. Long holding time/stable characteristics
: 5ER/YS-18 is able to be hold for 2 days after pre-dry or/and exposure
without changing it’s developing conditions.
4. Superior photosensitivity/developability
: Only 400-600 mJ/cm2 is required for forming 3-4 mil solder-dam. Little of
under-cut, within 10% totally.
5. Excellent heat/electrical resistance is always available.

DIRECTION TO USE:
1. Mix the principal material with hardener (ER-additive) in the ratio of 100g : 10g for 10-15 minutes, then hold for 15-30 minutes before use. About 2 weeks of pot-life is obtainable after mixing.
2. Use specified thinner SOLVENT #8500 for dilution purpose, if the viscosity of ink increased by low temperature. Be sure to make the addition ratio of thinner within 3wt%. 1wt% addition of thinner, will cause 20-30 ps of viscosity drop.
3. A 120-150 meshes polyester-based screen is recommended for printing application. The printable area of NPR-60/5ER (YS-18) is around 7-9m2 per kilogram (both sides totally). A 15-20μm thickness of coated-film on circuit is recommended after post-cure process (in dried condition).
4. For your reference, pre-dry conditions is recommended as belows:
a. PRE-DRY PERFORMED IN 1 TIME BOTH SIDES:
70℃ x 35 – 60 min.
75℃ x 30 – 50 min.
80℃ x 25 – 40 min.
b. PRE-DRY PERFORMED IN 2 TIMES, FRONT SIDE AND REAR SIDE RESPECTIVELY:
Front side
Rear Side
70℃ x 25 min. 70℃ x 35 min.
75℃ x 20 min. 75℃ x 30 min.
80℃ x 15 min. 80℃ x 25 min.
Maxium operation window for NPR-60/5ER (YS-18) is 70℃-70min., 75℃ -60 min. and 80℃-45 min.. Be sure to keep your working conditions within the said window. Coated-film after pre-dry process is developable within 2 days, without change it’s developing conditions.
5. 400-600mJ/cm2 of UV energy, measured on coated-film; and a metal halide lamp is recommended for exposure purpose. Increase 10-20% of UV energy when a high pressure mercury lamp is applied.
6. Developing conditions is recommended as follows:
Solution: Na2CO3 aqueous solution
Solution Tempt. : 28-32℃
Spray pressure: 1.5-2.5 kg/cm2
Developing time: 60-90 sec.
Rinsing: pure water; 60-90 sec.
7. Perform the post-cure in the conditions of 150-160℃ x 45-60 min. is recommended.
8. Perform the legend ink’s printing/curing processes after the said post-cure process is recommended. Solvents contained in legend ink will penetrate into coated-film and causing peeling problem, if the said film is not being cured enough.
9. Use ester-group solvents or/and hydrocarbon-chlorinated-group solvents to clean/rinse screen, squeege or related tools.
REMARKS:
1. OPERATION CIRCUMSTANCES
--- A clean room with yellow lamp, room temperature: 22-26℃, humidity: 50-60%, is recommended. A local exhaust is required.
2. STORAGE
--- Store the said material in a certain well-ventilated area, at the temperature of 5-25℃. Avoid direct sun light or/and flame.
3. HANDLING
--- A local exhaust is required to be set up at operating area. Wear
chemical
gloves/goggles, approved respirator or/and suitable protective
clothing when in operation. Avoid direct contact with skin or/and eyes. Flush
with soap and clean water after use.
